Where Has Funny Gone?

I wrote this post about getting my toddler a lower back tattoo and some folks believed I was telling the truth (including the suggestion that we’d serve virgin margaritas to all the toddlers in attendance at V’s birthday party tomorrow).

I think it’s  a sad commentary on the grim state of parenting in the media when something as outlandish as getting one’s youngest a back tattoo is believable.

Nose rings for the tiny folk!!! I say bring it on!!!

    Ahem.

I wish you’d posted this last November of this coming one…what a fab party idea. Two side-by-side punch bowls: one for kiddoes, one for mommies. ;)

However, my children are VERY into body art so I might have taken you seriously. (Assuming you meant a temp one…did not read your original, sorry, have been random in the reading lately.)

I noticed a Leopard child on the school sidewalk yesterday, and felt a little better about my Cat Children and the scrolling tats on their biceps.

And there? I am not kidding. At all. LOL

I think our generation is majoring in Very Serious Parenting; no funny allowed.

Can’t be good for our kids or for us…

It would be far more interesting to serve regular margaritas to the little folk. They sleep so much better that way, even if you jack ‘em up with sugar and stuff.

The problem I have with lower-back tattoos for toddlers is that they don’t make low-cut Pull-Ups and it spoils the effect.

I whole-heartedly agree Karen, which is why we go with diaper thongs. You can get them at Duane Reade or any Walgreens, I think.

They have to know you to hear the ironic tone of voice I suppose. I’m still being mocked by P for being horrified to see babes in arms with pierced ears. O tempora! O mores!

It can be hard work keeping the grim folks at bay. I like to bewilder them with laughter and fun, no matter how sour they choose to be.

Ohhhhhhh redsy. You and I speak the same lang. The lack of funny can force even the likes of us to become deathly serious (hence my recent “annual earnest post”). t can force us to do serious things. Like tattoo our children. Honestly thee are so many sancti-twits on the internet it’s enough to drive one away from blogging. Almost.

You know what? tattoo your child and I WILL STILL ADORE YOU.
